Today I got my TWE in the online portal, it's a very sad feeling, but I am lucky enough to have a 3-year ROTC at Clemson. I want to thank everyone on this thread for being incredibly helpful. Yalls advice helped me navigate the complicated application process and gave me clear guidance. I still have a shot at USNA, but West Point was my clear #1. I have one last question. Is there any way I can get a USMAPS acceptance or is this the end of the line? Thank you all for your answers and support.

Yes, you will be automatically considered for USMAPS. However, I would not count on it. I would focus on arriving at Clemson in great shape and passing the physical fitness test there. One of my AROTC students was the only freshman to pass the first PFT on campus. Be that guy!

I recommend that your reapply to USMA and other SAs this summer and next fall. Start now to make plans for new recommendations and the repeat of some too. Use the summer to expand your résumé further and 'hit the ground' running at Clemson! Good luck

Congrats on Clemson

Congrats on Clemson and ROTC.

Congratulations on Clemson and the 3 year. You will have the opportunity to reapply. I just wanted to be clear though about your USMAPS questions. To get an offer to USMAPS, you must have been disqualified for something. If you are qualified non-select you will not get an offer. You may be considered for sponsored prep through the AOG but this is also a long shot. As others have said, focus on finishing your senior year and look forward to going to school at a pretty cool place.

You should let your field force rep know that you are interested in prep or AOG sponsored prep. AOG sponsored prep is the golden ticket, allowing for a year sponsored by Army to prepare for west point. ROTC at clemson is a great backup and also another nomination source if you decide to reapply.

Sorry to hear about the TWE. As a word of encouragement I personally know two people, just in South Carolina, who did not get in on their first attempt but did eventually get an appointment. Both of these were in the last four years. One on their second try and one on their third attempt. Keep up the positive attitude and enjoy your time at Clemson (or at the USNA if that works out).

I recommend not only contacting your FFR but also your regional admissions officer and ask if they would consider you as a candidate for the AOG Scholarship (you MUST be 3Q to be considered). My son was TWE in Jan 3Q and asked and in Feb got a letter with the scholarship offer. 4 of the 5 Jr colleges that accept it contacted him right away. He will be going to Georgia Military College as a sponsored Civil Prep this August. He too got the 3-year AROTC and had his pick of top schools but this came along and he could not pass it up. Clemson is awesome and congrats to you for your acceptance!
