Two U.S. Soldiers Reportedly Killed in Shooting at Germany's Frankfurt Airport

It's strange how times have changed. Back in the late 80's and 90's even when on orders they didn't want the service member to fly in uniform, and they also were told to carry a passport, although military i.d. and orders would work for immigration. The reason why came from the hijacking that resulted in a Seal being executed in 1985; if memory serves me correctly the hijackers were able to pick him out fast because he was the only one without a passport.

We also did not have military i.d on our cars...pretty easy to still pick us out in the UK because we were driving cars with left hand side drivers.

It wouldn't surprise if they go back to that perspective again. Granted in this situation since they were attacked at the bus be it in uniform or not, those big blue buses are a give away, just like our American cars in the UK.

I was very sad to learn about this the other day. God bless our troops!

My heart goes out to those families...Lakenheath to Ramstein is considered a good deal TDY.
