Due to the designation of of U.S Space Force as being the 6th military branch, I presume that will come with a need for Space Force Officers.

If so, do you think they will establish a u.s space force academy le (U.S.S.F.A) or make commissioning an option out of the air force academy similarly to marines out of the naval academy?

Any ideas from anyone?

Also side note, do you think cross commission into the space force academy would be possible within the next 4 years from another academy persay?

This question is actually addressed on their FAQ here.

"There are no plans at this time for a U.S. Space Force specific service academy. We expect to commission officers from existing service academies, Reserve Officer Training Corps programs, and Officer Candidate Schools into the U.S. Space Force. It’s important to note that the Air Force Academy and other commissioning services are already commissioning space-minded officers."

The USSF is tiny and will be that way for the short term future. Expect that USSF officers will stick to AFROTC, AF OTS, and USAFA as primary sources of appointment until a need arises to do this otherwise (they may run their own OCS/OTS, though). If there is any substantial cross-service commissioning from other SA's into the USSF, that likely won't occur to any major degree until sister service space assets are rolled into the USSF. This may never happen-- remember that the Navy still has it's own full-spectrum air component and never rolled that into the USAF.

Space Cadets! Back in the day, that was not a flattering designation. Space Midshipmen is also lacking, starting with the fact that “midshipman” has a truly naval significance. Junior Spacemen? Budding Astrofficers? Rising Stars? Hmmm...this should keep some Pentagon staffers busy for a while.

Hoth? Dude that place is completely covered in ice and abominable snow monsters that definitely did not grow to love Christmas. Aspire to beauty, or at least some place warm.

Also, USSF is going to be lawyers and procurement for quite a while before the first Space Marine goes up.

We should put in a request to do the contracting for the names. 16 million dollar study. You can’t mess this up.
