Ugh DODMERB

They offer do conditional appointments before medical. My son had a classmate who had an LOA to West Point. The classmate, a year ago, had a heart condition such that he passed out while running and woke up in the emergency room. So he had the LOA before a DQ that will not receive a waiver.
Apologies, I wasn’t clear in what I was trying to say.

I was thinking/wondering about reporting/Iday (for usna, for example), WITHOUT having their medical done, resolved, or finalized, due to DODMERB’s current issues.

I was speaking to @MarTac ‘S post about kids not attending a SA, without their medical done, for fear of getting a DQ AFTER reporting to the SA. Due to DODMERBS current issues.

Yes, LOA’s are given with one of the common conditions of the LOA being clearing medical.

My son’s medicals were completed third week of September and nothing, sent to DodMerb a few days later 😱. DoDMerb site says his records have not been added to the system, yet some have status updates with much later exam dates. Go figure.

So you’re saying that in Dodmets your son’s case is marked closed and says sent to DoDmerb on a specific date/time?

Exactly! Closed-Incomplete. We sent the 2 “missing” docs early October. Crickets. Very frustrating.
Did you follow up on the "Closed-Incomplete" with DODMETS? My D's file with DODMETS had the same notation because one of her exam forms had missing information. It took about two weeks to get everything straightened out, and that was with our involvement. After you sent the 2 missing docs, did you follow up with DODMETS to make sure they had everything they needed to send to DODMERB? "Closed-Incomplete" is different from "Closed," so you might want to follow up with DODMETS if you haven't already.

Would definitely recommend emailing both dodmets and DoDmerb. My daughter completed her exams mid-September, went back and forth with dodmets for a couple items, marked “complete” on 9/30. Sat on complete until 11/11. Then it changed to “closed - incomplete” and sent to DoDmerb. Emailed dodmets , they said she needed to check with DoDmerb. Emailed DoDmerb, and about a week and a half later received a response that she was medically qualified!

You very well may just be hung up in the manual system somewhere.

I just checked DODMETS. Had not checked in a few weeks. It now shows CLOSED (without the Incomplete). Go figure. One has to stay on top of this, no hand holding at all!! Message sent to all emails available 😬.
