So I got an LOE in October, got my nom last month and thought everything was going swimmingly, but 5 minutes ago I got a call from my liaison officer (who I haven't spoken to once) asking when I was good for the interview. my thought immediately was "uhh.. what interview?" Last year when i applied and got QNA'd I didn't hear a word about any interview. Is this some sort of odd turn off the normal course? I mean I guess another interview can't hurt!

DS was interviewed by liaison officer early August. Since then DS has been in touch with him maybe twice since then just to make sure everything is in order. By in touch, he just emailed him.

right i have kept in active touch with my minority admissions officer but this is a liaison who i haven't really spoken to, so i assume this is just the same thing as a nomination interview (content wise) but is specifically for the academy?

Most liaisons I believe are what they call FFRs and are volunteers. There are some that are in the reserves. Look on the sticky notes but what I understand is they want to make sure you do not have any questions and you understand the admissions process. More beneficial to do the interviews earlier in the process but perhaps there was a change and your liaison is just now getting our info. Since you went through this process last year you probably do not have many questions.
