My 2 questions are as follows:
  1. If a candidate gets an appointment, how much time do they have to accept or reject? Do they have "X" amount of days or weeks to decide? There are some candidates who are undecided.
  2. If there is an undecided candidate after May 1st, do they "lose" their appointment???
Thanks for answering. It is very much appreciated.

If USMA is like USAFA, which I would expect in this respect they are, a candidate is given a specific date, such as May 1 or April 15, to accept an appointment. If the appointment has not been accepted by the deadline, it is considered a "decline" and the appointment is gone.

1. All offers of appointment will have a specific date by which to accept/decline.

Candidates offered appointments early in the process have until May 1st and that may give some candidates months to decide. Candidates offered appointments later in the process have normally been given two weeks to accept/decline an offer of appointment (although in previous years the date was April 15th, so that may change the policy on later appointments). Candidates offered very late may be given a much shorter time frame.

2. If a candidate does not accept the appointment by the date given, they lose the appointment.
