My son was medically DQd last August due to a surgical procedure that was done July 2017. His last doctors visit was April 2018 which was less than 6 months post doctors care at the time he submitted his application for both USMA and USNA. The status almost immediately changed to “Under Medical Review” for both SA. That was mid-Sept. We submitted AMI. He now has received a Congressional nomination for both SA. All the boxes on each portal are checked/green! Do we simply wait or is there something else he should be doing? He has contacted his DodMERB rep with no answer. He called each SA yesterday and spoke with medical to be sure there was nothing else on his end to complete with the impending Jan 31 deadline. Do you have any further advice or information? TIA!

Roger.
Will look in a little while after dinner and some TV👌

If you don’t mind me asking, how were you able to get in contact with USNA medical? I am also DQ and have been unable to find someone at USNA to contact directly about my waiver.

He usually emails or calls his contact at DodMERB first—the one he is assigned to by last name. Then he contacted his admissions counselor at USNA by email, next sent an e-mail through the candidate portal, and finally called admissions and asked to speak with someone in medical. He was not able to get much concrete or definitive information; however, this forum and Mr. Mullen have been most helpful.
Good luck to you!

The only information DoDMERB will know, will be posted to the DoDMERB website. No need to call DoDMERB.

1. If a waiver decision has been rendered.
2. If the waiver authority requests remedial/AMIs before they render their waiver decison.

He only called last fall regarding AMI that had been submitted. They communicated mainly through email and were prompt in doing so. The other calls made recently were to admissions as the impending deadlines were approaching to be sure nothing was being left to chance.
Thank you again MullenLE for your swift attention and response to our questions.
