Understanding Nominations

There are folks that are very knowledgeable about Nominations .... maybe start by reading the First Post on the top of the Nominations Forum. Then ask any questions, answered may vary depending on which Nomination Sources you qualify for and if you're applying to USMMA.

Would someone explain nominations to me? I don't understand things like slating and principal.
Go to the Sticky post at the very top of this forum, Nominations. Start your research there.
Slate = list of nominated candidates.
Principal nomination is one of the methods an elected official can use to order the candidates on his or her slate. A principal nomination plus being fully qualified usually brings an offer of appointment.

Thank you! I have a better understanding of it now. My son was emailed one but when I started to read the forum, the words confused me. I don't know if he was given more information. Thank you for your help. This whole process has been and continues to be really stressful.

Yes, it can be stressful. Its so difficult to get into these SA's, best to also work on plans b, C and D. There are so many factors...lots of competitive applicants do not get appointed. Good luck.
