I have two related questions regarding the uniform and boot sizing.

The uniform sizing sheet says that it must be filled out by a fitting professional. Great! The fitting professional nearest me refused to do it because she didn't think she could get it right.
How big of a deal is it if my measurements are off? My DM did my measurements... she's done fitting before, but she's far from a professional. Is there the possibility of changing to a different size?

Ditto for the boots. I can probably find a place that will specialize in work boots, but it's going to be a day long expedition. I'd rather forgo it if it turns out I can change sizes if what I put down as my size doesn't fit well. But obviously I also want to end up with clothing and boots that fit. And the sizes... are they men's sizes, or do females get a women's size?

Thanks a lot!

It is not a big deal for boots. You will keep trying on pairs until you find some that fit. As for uniform size, its more so they get the right numbers of different sizes. You will keep trying on abus till they fit and for blues you will go to the tailor shop and they can make last minute adjustments.

i thought regardless you are measured and fitted there? if not i already got my measurements done by a pro but still need to get my boot size ...

My mom measured me... I also went to a tux shop just to double check my measurements. But honestly, my mom measured it more accurately. My normal inseam lengths are 32, but the tux shop measured it as 39... Just try to accurately measure it at home if you can

For boots, my friend at AFA said just write down your shoe size. For ex: I wear 9.5 in Nikes, so i put 9.5

Don't stress over the measurements. They are used solely to help USAFA purchase the right amounts of each uniform size.

Once you reach the uniform station at I-day, the wonderful tailor shop workers glance at you and hand you a size to try on. They don't have your measurement sheet; you try on sizes until something fits.

The boot warehouse is similar; you try on sizes until you find the right one. Stay and try on sizes until you find a good pair. They have wide and narrow sizes too.
