Ok soI want to get my file completed around September-October. The thing is I'm taking some relevant courses in the fall, namely Calculus 2 and General Chem. Can I update my file after I've completed it with new academic information?

yes, updating your file is necessary in this arduous process, it also helps to pass the hours, days, months of waiting. Good Luck!

How exactly does one update your "file"? The only thing I am aware of is my CIS portal and all that information is complete. I see nothing that can be updated except for additional test scores.

If anyone can detail how they are personally updating their file it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Email the regional directior listed on the CIS, or if you have a personal contact in admissions (someone your candidate met during the process), email him/her.

Well, that lets us out. Must have missed the bus on developing and utilizing personal contacts in the admissions dept.

During this process I got the overwhelming vibe of "don't call us, we'll call you". Apparently I was the only one, because it seems everyone else has a contact of one source or another.

ColtDad - you should be able to use the RD listed on the CIS. DS updated through that contact, too.

There is always the option of having your BGO submit the information as a "New Note", this won't update your actual file, but will be put in with your application when it is reviewed. You can do this with any addition accomlishments, etc you may have along the way.

Colt Dad, we are on the same bus as you. Whenever DS updated his file (grades, awards etc) he sent it in the mail to the admissions office with his candidate number referenced. Perhaps it went nowhere without a better contact to deliver it.
