If chosen for UPT, what is the order from start to airplane assignment? Does your grades from the Academy affect what you get or is it how you do during the training?

Once you're in UPT/SUPT...forget EVERYTHING about "where you came from, etc."

How your perform academically and in the plane are what will determine how you do and ultimately, the "track" you are selected for (Tanker/Transport or Fighter/Bomber). Your "track" will determine the type aircraft; the actual selection will be based upon your class rank/track rank, and the aircraft available at the time.

After getting your AFSC, you rank which bases you prefer. For the AF, you can pick between 5 UPT bases. Three run the standard AF program, Sheppard runs ENJJPT (mostly fighters/bombers), and Pensacola is the Navy program. Everyone does academics and T-6s. The standard AF program will then track to either T-38s, T-1s, T-44s, or UH-1s. This is determined by available slots, needs of the AF, class rank, and students' desires. T-38s can drop just about anything. T-1s drop heavies, T-44s drop -130s, and UH-1s drop helicopters and Ospreys.

Class ranking is decided during UPT, with UPT performance only.
