Hey, I just got an email today from the USAFA admissions telling me to check my application status. My profile was opened by applying for the USAFA SS. When I log into my portal I can now open my "2022 application." It list my application as competitive and said it was last reviewed march 1st. I was just wondering if this means anything significant or if a lot of people who applied to the SS got the same email and status. Thanks.

Edit: Sorry for listing as class of 2020. Just a little typo.

Look in the "status" section at the bottom fine prints in your portal. It explains the different phases from "prospectus" to "candidate" as deem by USAFA. Good luck. You are about to go on a long journey so strap down ...

Better check this now: my DS opened up his online USAFA Class of 2021 application late in his Jr. year of HS; he found out later that the application deadline was based on when it was opened. So he had to get all his stuff done a bit earlier [not a bad thing.] Just be aware of this; you might have triggered your 'complete by' deadline already. And good luck !!

I had the same change.

Yes, back when I applied, my due date had been early November. It's always best to finish your application late summer/early school year.

DS applied for SS in mid January 2016 and his Complete deadline was November 01 which was the earliest under the "rolling" admissions. This same mid Jan date is shown in his portal as when he submitted his application.

My DS has the same scenario also triggered from the SS application. Best of luck!

Oh jeez. Thanks for the warning.

To be clear the things beyond your control like DoDMERB and MOC nominations don't count against the deadline. Just the transcripts, test scores, CFA, letters of recommendation, ALO interview, other HS forms and paperwork, etc. Remember that your counselor etc has to send some of this directly so you need to ride herd on them to make sure its on time . . .
