USAFA 2022 Rejection

Based on this, I believe the appointments are, for the most part, done. Once May 1 has passed, there could be some more based on how many decline. My DS has not heard anything at all yet. Good luck everyone!

My DS is right there with yours. Trying to be patient and wait. May 1 is National Commitment Day for colleges nationwide, where colleges expect that a decision has been made as to if you will be attending there or not. It is typically the date colleges expect a deposit to attend by. I am taking my DS still sitting on the portal as a candidate as a good thing because this means he is still competitive. It is a long, hard, difficult wait, and has been so stressful. We are just focusing on plan B, in case plan A (USAFA) does not work out for him. Best of luck to your DS!

Yes yes! Mine is still sitting at candidate status as well. I would love to fast forward and see a change in his portal. We have already paid the deposit for Plan B and gladly not receive it back if it means my DS gets appointed. ;)

Well, it says “majority of appointments made.”

That could mean 51%. Technically. Many are still sitting in Candidate Complete status with no movement, and apparently with no resolution in their district.

Can’t say they don’t make it suspenseful. Tick tock!

I would LOVE it if that is what it meant ;)

I realize that this year's AF Academy class of 2022 has already begun but for those who see this for the next class of 2023, don't give up hope. My son received a rejection letter and less than two weeks later he got an acceptance letter. It is a very tense time for the candidate and family especially as the May 1st date approaches-keeping in mind other schools, deposits, travel etc. There is always next year also up to the max age. My other son at West Point had a roommate that was 22 years old.
