I've been trying to contact my ALO since the beginning of my sophomore year via email. I am currently a junior and tried to reach out to him twice, but I didn't want to overload him with emails, and he still hasn't replied. I recently signed up for the summer seminar program and it provided me with a number to finally call. Should I call it and what should I say? I don't want to come off as someone who likes to bothers, because I don't know if he received my emails or what is going on...

Just call once, if there's no answer leave a message and wait. If no reply within a week, repeat the call/message & wait system. If you never get a reply, just contact admissions and get a new one. I had the same problem with my BGO for USNA and resolved it that way.

Just wait until your complete application opens before you try contacting him/her again since you're only applying for summer seminar at the moment (SS is awesome by the way. I went last summer). Once it is all open, then try contacting him/her. Remember that they live sometimes very busy lives. My ALO is a freight pilot and sometimes won't reply to questions for 2+ weeks.

IMHO, I would wait a little before calling. My ALO contacted me a few weeks after I completed my Summer Seminar Application. If you do call I would let them know a little bit more about you, what year you are graduating from high school, and ask them if there is anything else you should be doing to make yourself more competitive. This is your first impression with your ALO, and it will be the start of a relationship which will later turn into an Interview for your application.

Well I've been trying to contact him since sophomore year (currently a junior) to find out some stuff about the academy, but I just recently got a number. I will try that how long do you think I should wait, because I want to make sure I'm doing the right things in order to get into the academy.

Ok, I will wait for a couple of more week. I just wanted to make sure I did everything right I stayed up the day the summer seminar application opened just to fill it out, because I couldn't wait.

I know that some ALOs (mine last year) don't pursue contact with their applicants until they have completed the pre-candidate questionnaire in March. If your ALO hasn't returned contact I would consider waiting to place a phone call until you complete that questionnaire in March, unless your questions are absolutely imperative right now. Additionally, try your absolute best to answer questions on your own first, it will reflect poorly on you if you ask questions that are readily available on the USAFA website or elsewhere.

You've already emailed a couple times. If you want to call ONCE, go ahead, and leave a message with your complete contact info.

What questions do you have about the Academy? Most of them can be answered here (read the stickies!), and then you may discuss with your ALO (at his convenience) other issues which are more personal.

She ain't lying. I ALWAYS come to the forums for any questions I have before I go anywhere else :) This is a very helpful website.

Do you have the correct ALO? I know that seems like a silly question but...the lists do change...

If you're not 100% certain, PM me...I can look the ALO up that is assigned to your school.
