DS took cfa and came close but did not met goals for run (7:15) and sit ups (72). Everything else the goals were met/exceeded.

Has anyone submitted CFA times with an event or two that didn't meet the "goal"?. Has anyone been asked by admissions from USAFA to retake the CFA?

There are literally dozens of threads about the CFA. Suggest you read through them.

This old mom's advice: retakes are on the advice of USAFA.

I cannot stress more strongly: practice the CFA IN ORDER OF EVENT, and time yourself.

Yes- son had to retake due to low scores in 2 categories although he was at ave or max in others...so if we had to do it over, more practice before submission...

Hi

When your DS was told to retest for having two scores lower than goal, were they slightly lower or significantly lower?

My DS was just shy of two and over or maxed the rest. Wondering if he can/should retest?

Thanks.

One was slightly lower- his push up I believe. His run was his weakest at 8:12.

You cannot compare a men's CFA score to a woman's CFA score. All the goals/averages and maxes are different.

While the CFA is important to get in, fitness is very important at USAFA. Our DD has fellow Doolies in her squad that are really struggling to this day with PT sessions. It really needs to be a way of life for Applicants vs. "just pass" the CFA. This doesn't mean they have to be a fitness junkie, but they need to be motivated to workout on their own and not just meet the minimum standards. With all of the time pressures on Cadets, not being physically fit is just another burden that will be added to the long list of pressures.

My DS is strong in Academic, leadership, 2 sports with 2x captain, has pres-nom, and Dobmerb qualified ... here’s the but! Because it’s still football season ( I want to say this right :)) and he is Lineman, he is heavy right now. And may not do well in the running part of the PFE. He definitely has the endurance the academy is look for. This 2 weeks is important for him to prep for the running but his team may go State if they win this Friday. That will extend the football season to atleast 3weeks! He is to the point that ..”I am going to put 110% of me to my football game and my PFE. If it’s not good enough, well too bad .. I know, I will be a military officer no matter what...”. He can’t run while working out 4x a week n football practice after.. game on Fridays. Help!!
