I recently took my CFA and wanted your opinions on whether it’ll be passing. I am a male. I think I could have done slightly better, but the ash from the recent fires in California made it difficult to breathe at times. Any input will help!

B-Ball Throw: 72 ft
Pull-Ups: 15
Shuttle: 8.3
Sit-Ups: 75
Push-Ups: 62
Mile: 6:13

Your scores definitely look better than "passing" to me, as you are pretty much average to better on all events. I'd say "run with it". Best wishes on your application!

You're good. Nothing to be concerned with there.

The only thing worthy of note (since you plan to attend USAFA) is at what altitude did you do this CFA?

This particular part of Colorado Springs is 7,258 feet above sea level.

Most Cadets do a 1-1/2 mile run in an average time of 10:18 at the USAFA.
If you live around 600 to 1,000 feet above sea level, you are going to run about 48 seconds slower for that 1-1/2 miles.
So, take into consideration what your "altitude-adjusted average" is going to be. In other words, take your time for 1-1/2 miles where you live, and add 48 seconds.
If your altitude-adjusted average isn't 10:18 or better, then you have the next several months to get it there.

I live on the Central Coast, so the altitude is only 200 ft. I’m curious to see how much altitude affects my scores and how long it will take my body to get acclimated, since I have lived near sea level my entire life. Thank you!

Yes take heed to this notice WARNING: LACK OF OXYGEN. I was able to attend the Air Force Academy Summer Seminar this past June. Before I went to USAFA SS I was running a mile in 6:50-7:00 at about 650 feet above sea level. When I went to SS we were given a chance to complete a practice CFA. Mile time was at about 8:57 (considering the fact the day we took the CFA practice was MILEX day). Lack of oxygen does take some getting used to which the cadets say takes about 1-2 weeks.

My DS is also a So Cal Boy.. took his CFA couple of weeks ago when we had the Lilac Fire. Air quality was terrible and he was recovering from the Flu. He is retaking this week. Good score! Congrats

I just took my CFA and am somewhat concerned.
Height: 73 inches
Weight: 182.2 lbs

Bb throw: 70ft
Pull ups: 14
Shuttle run: 8.43 s
Sit ups: 76
Push ups: 36
Mile: 7:23

I normally can get 50-60 pushups, so I was very disappointed with my score. The bad thing is that I have almost no time to improve my official scores. Is there any possibility this score is passing?

when do you have to submit your scores by?

I have until January 4th, but this week is the last warm week (around 45°) until my deadline.

Believe me, in Colorado Springs you will feel like a fish out of water (gasping for air) for at LEAST 2 weeks, if not a month.
If you think your CFA is good where you are, you're bound to get to USAFA and say to yourself, "Man, I suck!"
There are 6 months before Doolies have to report.
Stronger now will make everything better then.

I plan on training quite heavily until the day I leave, I just need to get accepted first. If this will pass then I'll take it, nevertheless I'll continue my work to improve. I did some training in the mountains of New Mexico over the summer (about 8500 feet up) and realized how little oxygen there is and how much of an effect it has, so an altitude mask is my number one purchase priority at the moment.

DS just completed his CFA.. any chance they will come back and ask him to retake with these scores?
Male
BB 77
Pull Ups 18 (Max)
Shuttle 9.0
Sit Ups 95 (Max)
Push Ups 75 (Max)
Mile 6:45

Application is Officially Complete with a Nom.. now we WAIT!!!

We live at about 175 feet. My DS is going to have to train hard til he leaves (Universe willing!)
