I don’t know whose slot I had actually fulfilled, I received a nom from Senator Tillis and Honorable Walker. It seems that around mid January there is a small but substantial jump in offers of appointment. Best of luck!

Curious to know if the January appointments came after the 7th semester grades were received. Thanks!
 
I assume this growing list of appointments is but a small subset of the actual appointments that went out this past week. Any guesses or knowledge of how many actually were sent out? DS didn't received one, but still cautiously optimistic. Hopefully, he's in the maybe pile.
 
My son just received his appointment to USAFA this morning but will be declining. He grew up wanting to go there but visited USNA at summer seminar and fell in love. Will be accepting USNA. We are so proud and happy for him! We held out some hope he would choose USAFA as we are 50 minutes away. Important for him to follow his heart. Congratulations to those who are in and good luck to those waiting!

Interesting that you've received 2 Nominations... Here in MD it appears that the MOC will only give nom. to 1 school of 1st choice.. Which I think is wrong.. If your a strong candidate and have earned the right to be a top candidate then one should have choices. Here in MD the Navy is a hard ticket to get being so close to the school.

My DS had LOAs to both academies prior to his MOC interview. Also the interview went well. So I guess the MOC felt compelled to give him nominations to both.

I'm not sure if doing well is the explanation. I believe some states just talk amongst MOC and some don't
 
If all the elected officials agreed to collaborate - or - agreed duplicate noms or multiple academies was okay - AND all agreed to use one method, perhaps a ranked slate of 10, we would not have the asymmetrical battlefield that we have. Everyone would be treated the same. It will be a chilly day in Hades before that happens.
