USAFA Diversity Visit

The diversity package suggests business casual. However, jeans, athletic tshirts, tennis shoes, letter jackets, etc. are often worn by the diversity candidates.

I agree with Raimus. Dress the best that you can and don't sweat it after that!:thumb:

My daughter did a Diversity Program Visit last year. She's a 4th year now. She shadowed a cadet for the day, attended classes, talked to a few people I believe and spent the night. It was a nice insight to a "day in the life"...She really enjoyed it. Also, it was listed as a campus visit at her high school so normal absentism rules did not apply. I say, if invited...GO.

I'm the daughter of onlyplaying who went on the visit and for me it was actually the deciding factor between USNA and USAFA. It was a great experience. I learned a lot about the academy and academy life and stayed in touch with some of the cadets which helped prepare me a little more for BCT and now the school year. It really is an amazing opportunity that if given the chance should be taken.

I'll be escorting for diversity visit. Maybe I'll get one of you! I can show you all the fun stuff 4 degrees do! :shake:

I will also be escorting a diversity candidate (the 9th-12th) for real this time. Maybe I will see you then.

Later,

Brian

Hey I'm an escort too, should be a good time. Do any of you 4 Digs know if we have to run strips with an escort?

I've talked to my ALO about this Diversity program and I'm extremely interested. However, I haven't been mailed any package or been notified though my ALO said he would get back to me when he returns from a Diversity program meeting at USAFA. Typically how long do they offer this oppurtunity? I might be panicing if last week was the only week they mailed everything out.

Thanks in advance

I have seen kids here almost every week. They ask certain squadrons and groups different weeks. I was asked for the 9th-12th of September. There will probably be more after that.

USAFA ALO
NOTE: USAFA CLASS OF 1983 (That would be, what, about a DECADE before you were born?)

lol, that's what we are called. Don't think we get upgraded until recognition.

DVP help w/ ticket

I will be attending the USAFA visit from 9-12 Sep. I have received emails with parent consent form, agenda, packing list, and school excusals. I also received an email that is my itinerary; it has detailed info on my flights, like the flight number and my seat number. But I am not sure if this is my actual ticket. Is this an electronic ticket? Or am I supposed to receive the ticket in the mail? If it's supposed to come in the mail, I haven't received it as of Wednesday morning, and tomorrow is my flight.
Thanks for any help with this.

Never mind, I figured it out.
I went to the website of the flight carrier I was going to be on (United Airlines) and typed in the confirmation number, and I believe I can print out a ticket from there this evening.
