DS is being considered for prep appointment and I am praying he gets it! I always felt that he would do better with a year at the prep school first. TWE for direct appointment last week. It was a tough day. Anyone know the latest date they make prep appointments? Congrats to all so far and I hope I will be able to update the appointment list very soon!

His TWE stated only no appointment to USAFA. His liaison officer said if it does not say no for falcon scholarship or prep school, then he is still in the running for those.
 
Are prep school appointees chosen solely based on their file, or is it similar to direct appointments where there is a variety of cadets from across the US?

From my understanding the majority of theses appointments are for Prior Enlisted and then the class is filled out with other applicants that have something the academy wants but we’re lacking in some area ie.. test scores or gpa however, I don’t think there is any real answer for what that secret sauce is on what the academy “wants”

There should be a link in Purple on your portal. If you click on it it will open the packet in the Area that states your Application Status Called Instructions to Appointees
 
By what date should all prep school appointments be made? Any idea based on previous years? Plan B is already Plan A and deposit has been paid as we have already shifted gears, but still curious if the prep school route could be a slim hope.

Per the Prep School appointment letter:
We have until 1 May to accept or deny or offer.
If we don't make a decision prior to 1 May we ultimately forfeit our offer.

With this being said,I suspect that there will be a few offers rolling out at the beginning of May to replace the declined offers.

To those who have finished the appointee checklist, have you guys has the travel authorization page unlocked yet? I’m still waiting for my forms to be processed at the moment
 
DS still has a bunch of forms also that haven’t been processed yet - he is getting his last 3 shots as we speak which should finish him up on the portal later today
