Has anyone heard of any USAFA prep appointments? I haven't seen much talk about it on here.
I created a USAFA Prep c/o 2017 thread on here recently. Only two entries so far- myself and a fellow LEAD applicant. Looking forward to more slots being announced this month, best of luck to you!
Why do you think you didn't get in direct?
Myself? I'm currently an enlisted Airman that has been out of high school for 3 years now.. I don't look at it as "didn't make direct entry" as much as "hey we REALLY want you, we're gonna spend extra money on 10 months worth of prep school to ensure your success at the academy". I'm definitely looking forward to the extra prep time!
DD told this am that Prep/Falcon have not gone to board yet (will be before April 20th), so a couple more weeks. let's hope lots of our DD/DSs get an offer!
I'm currently active duty. Received my appointment to the prep school in February. I'm definitely thankful for the year of prep before entering the academy.
Our son did not receive his offer to attend the Prep School until April 26 last year. Btw, he was not a Prior.
I know its common laundry in BMT. However, does anyone have any information on how we can do laundry while in prep school? Thank you
Curious if your son remained in candidate status last year until his April 26th prep school offer? Thanks.
Yes, he did.
What was his ACT/SAT score, GPA, any athletic teams, or clubs? If you don't mind me asking.
They have washing machines and dryers in the dorms. They do not require quarters.
I went to the prep school (not a recruited IC or prior) and I had a 28 ACT and 3.6 high school GPA. Ran XC for 1 year of high school.
I should add that the average ACT score for preppies when I asked around was about 24-26
I don't remember the exact numbers for his SAT, but it was slightly under the Academy's minimum. Same with his GPA. He was in Civil Air Patrol and top athlete in Football.
