Does anyone know the exact size of the buttons on our SD. blues? I'm trying to order chrome plated ones for my uniform, but there are like 10 different choices for the sizes. I would like to know for the 4 big ones on the midline of our torsos and the small ones on our pockets. I'm a male, if that makes a difference to the sizes of the buttons because I'm unfamiliar with female attire. Thanks in advance.

I guess my question is two parts: first, why are you trying to do this? And second, are they even authorized in AFI 36-2903? This sounds like a uniform item that is NOT normally worn. Perhaps honor guards, but I don't have the AFI in front of me.

The buttons on your service dress can actually be shined by hand. It's a pain... but it's cheaper (and less complicated) than replacing the buttons that are on your service dress already.
