Any suggestions on which workshops I should sign up for? Honestly, they all look interesting and I'm pretty indecisive with stuff like this.
Thanks

Sign up for what you're interested in.

Just be aware, you won't always get the workshop you want.

I wanted the Aeronautics and flight sim, but ended up with history and econ.

When you register at the academy, they give you a card and tag that you must wear at all times. Your schedule is on the back.

I particularly liked Philosophy. We did this whole simulation of busting into a house and shooting dart guns at a projector screen while other people shot at us in the dark. We chose who to shoot based on a prior intelligence briefing, anxiety, and intuition. Afterward, we discussed why we shot at certain images and not others. It was interesting.

Everywhere

I know someone that left his on the grass where his group worked out. There it sat all night long....or maybe not. It was found by a cadet who made the group do alot more pushups that day than any other group. Alot. Leave nothing behind, especially not important items.:shake:

So I've narrowed my list down to this:

Glider design
Small-scale rocket design and test
Field Biology
Explanation of human behavior: theory and applications
The chemistry of weapons
Economic theory and practice
Principles of aircraft part design
Negotiations
Intro. to air force aviation
Laser Optics
International system simulation
Intro. to philosophy

Any must-experience workshops from this list?

Are the workshops basically the same from year to year? Am planning on applying to next SS.

They were almost identical from my older son's last year and the listing I posted from my son's this year. Probably depends on the instructors and how some work out each year (if there are particular issues with some or others are in high demand), but I think there'd only be a small amount of change.

USAFA Summer Seminar Workshops

One session he should sign up for is one for character. It taught by a SMS if I remember correctly, my son attended SS in 2007, he said it a great workshop.

Glider Design
Small-scale Rocket
Chemistry of Weapons
Aircraft part design
Simulator

These seemed to be the most popular classes when I was out there. I personally took the rocket, part design, and econ courses. Rockets was a lot of fun and aircraft part design is cool if you want to be an engineer. Econ was a bit slower paced but none the less very interesting as they all will be.

The character session will most likely be led by CMSgt (retired) Bob Vasquez, who is usually referred to as Chief. Anything organized by Chief is sure to be very motivating and fun.

He also did a large presentation on the last day to each flight. It was a lot of fun and pretty thought provoking too.

The Chief's speech was great and highly motivating! I went to SS last year and would recommend the Political Science: International Systems deal. It was great.
