Good afternoon. Does anyone know what the USAFA summer seminar schedule might look like, aside from start and end dates? I'm curious about start times and end times, ceremonies, etc. I've been accepted and it doesn't look like I can see details without first accepting.

Hey, I don't have any idea what the schedule would be. I applied this year for summer seminar and didn't get accepted but I just wanted to say congratulations and if you decided to continue to apply I hope to see you on Iday for the class of 2024.

As of a few years ago, it went something like this:

The first afternoon you arrive is mainly getting acquainted with other folks in your element, your element leader (who will be a cadet) and getting your 'uniform', getting to your room, etc. If I recall there is a briefing as well.

The first full day was a taste of basic cadet training/fourth class year. Memorable and a great experience to have while assessing if USAFA is the place for you.

The other days include morning PT, briefings, teambuilding activities, attending mock-classes, going on hikes/seeing base, etc. I realize that isn't very descriptive and I'm sure someone who went more recently can give you a better idea.

Long story short, it is a great week which answered lots of questions about cadet life. Enjoy!!

Hey, sorry you didn't get accepted. Hope to see you on "I" Day as well. Everything for a reason...

thanks for the kind words and best of luck to you as well!

Basically what AF22SIS said for the first 2 days. The 2nd day you tour the airfield. The 3rd day was focused around athletics, touring the athletic centers and playing some different intramurals at night. The last full day is dedicated to academics. All throughout you'll be having different panels and guest speakers. It's a blast! I went last year, so hopefully some carried over.

FYI : If you have any family members going out with you, they will get a great behind the scenes tour of the campus. This happens on that first day as you are getting signed in and getting settled. Your family can also attend the final dinner at Mitch's with you (details will be given to you re: time to arrive, how to rsvp, etc). Our family drove out together and had vacation while our DS was attending. Enjoy your time!
