USAFA to OSI?

Does a cadet from USAFA have a good chance of getting into OSI? If so, what steps should a cadet take to make himself competitive for a slot?

IIRC, about 3 per year get it. One of my buds here in my RAND cohort got an OSI slot. Had to give it up to come to RAND though.

Tough to get it. Many applications. Something like a 10% acceptance rate.

It is doable, but OSI is one of the tougher AFSCs to get out of USAFA. It is one of the few "boarded" AFSCs. That means the selection process is different from the majority. It will require extra interviews, applications, etc. Usually, OSI has about 80 applicants for 2-8 slots (depends on their needs for that year).

Even if you don't get in the first time, you can still apply later, right?
