USAFA vs. USNA

I don't have any new or specific advice beyond what is already here, but I can say that I loved my time at USAFA and as a woman and an officer in the Air Force, I have only rarely had gender related problems. I can say for sure that I have had less trouble than my civilian counterparts in the scientific and research communities. The Air Force has been making real (if sometimes poorly executed) attempts to improve the culture and I have noticed changes just since the start of my time at USAFA 8 years ago.

Anyway, I wanted to let you know I am happy to answer any questions you may have about life at the academy as a woman as well as in the Air Force outside the pilot community (which has a distinctly different feel to it)

OP: What do you want to identify yourself as? Naval Aviator or Air Force Pilot?
If you have access to a nearby Navy or AF base, try attending a promotion or retirement ceremony (Club), go to the BX around lunch time, or the commissary; you'll have opportunity to get first hand info.
If you are still torn, do a coin toss and call it a day, it's good luck either way!
