Thank you! That’s what I’m hoping! Anything to keep hope alive. He won’t be back until late tomorrow evening but wants to be home when he opens it. Ugh! Lol.
I'm cheering you on from afar. Hoping to hear the goodnews soon. And for the others!
To all who were Waitlisted for Direct, this first time waitlist has been officially used for direct, the good news is that USAFA has essentially said they want you. And if you end up receiving the dreaded "non-selected" , their is a still a silver lining......in a reapplication next year, you stand a very good chance of appointment! Same true for prep waitlists.
I would urge you to consider it a confidence builder, to help reassure you, while you improve all areas of the WCS concept. Reapply. Make it impossible for them to tell you no!
I know a year of re-do of applications is a daunting prospect. But DS found it considerably easier the 2nd time around, and had it absolutely tamed this 3rd time through this year.
Good grades in College courses reflecting Doolie year courses, will help. Especially if SAT is a bit on low side. (But try to improve). ROTC. Leadership building extracurricular clubs. (Easy to find at MMI, and likely GMC).
My son told me he feels like he's actually glad to have been a non-select last 2 years. Because now he's super ready, and humbly brimming with confidence going into West Point. He had 3 appointments this time, all 3 he applied to. He really held on to the idea of 'things happen for a reason', and it came to fruition.
Don't give up! There are no failures in this, just growth opportunities.
Best wishes to all, and good luck!
