USAFA Waiting Thread C/O 2027

Are the first wave of appointments released at end of January?
If you look at the appointment thread, it seems as if the first appointments have been coming out since November. However, I'm guessing that appointments will continue to ramp up through the end of march based on @AFrpaso's graph of appointments.

Last year they went through April too

What is the average number of appointees per district / per state?
There is no average. It is all dependant on how competitive the applicants from the state are and how many of them there are. Almost every congressional district will send at least one to each academy. But there are some years, in some districts, where no qualified applicants exist. However, in other districts with a lot of qualified candidates, it's possible to see many appointees from a single district.

Round 3 for me. I've retaken the ACT and gotten a 34 on it, as have I done a year of Army ROTC, scored way better on the CFA, etc. If I don't get in this time around, there's nothing more I could've done, and I'll commission into the Army. Regardless, best of luck to everyone!

Best of luck to you in whatever you end up doing. Perseverance is key. My son is at the Prep School and received his Senator's nomination last night. Now we need to wait a few more months urghhhh

To everyone waiting to hear, try (and I know it's damn impossible to) not to worry too much. Last year I was looking over every graph I could find and trying to figure out my odds of getting in. You've done everything you can to prepare and your application won't change. Most people have not been admitted yet. And remember, if you don't get in, most people don't. I got rejected last year and got accepted this time around. Take the year to make yourself a better applicant.

I just got my dodmerb appointments done due to some issues I had with my residency(I live at a boarding school very far away from my parents, so I had to wait until I was 18 to go to my appointments without a guardian). Based on the other people's responses I'm guessing it'll take about 2 months for me to get cleared. Does this put me at a big disadvantage? I've passed my CFA and I think I have a really strong application otherwise, so I'm just worried about this now.
