If this is what your daughter truly desires, her size won't dictate her leadership abilities, she will. I hope she finds her golden envelope with her acceptance today, tomorrow, or sometime this week. If not, I hope that she rises and shows her resolve to be the leader she wants and gets an acceptance next year.

I have known many “small but mighty” leaders who were women. Once the force of their command presence and leadership drive hit you, you didn’t even notice the package it came in.

I’m wishing the best for you! It wasn’t a devastating blow at all for any of us. He was being recruited by AF and was excited to apply. They backed off recruitment and he lost interest. He committed to another school last week.
I was hoping for a prep school slot, and he might have accepted it to get a postgrad sports year in. Could have opened up a spot at AF or other schools. I don’t think he would have accepted an appointment to the academy (and probably not prep school). Reading this message board shows me that there are young men/women so much more interested in the military than my son. I sure hope some get appointments!!!
