USAFA Waiting Thread C/O 2027

Great News!!! That means they want him. Hoping it only takes a week or so longer, but if necessary, the same holdsvtrue for him if it takes another year. Since it sounds like you're in Alabama, strongly consider the MMI route for that eventuality. (They accept late applications, but 200 deposit held DS a spot last yr). PM me for our excellent experiences there.
Good Luck!!!
Thank you so much! We are not actually in Alabama, I’m just a huge fan. 😊 I may still reach out though if the appointment doesn’t come through! Thanks, again!

Congratulations on your USNA appointment @moho !!!! You are also one of those that I will not forget for a while. All your effort paid off. Now time for the AF to offer you an appointment so you can show off to the entire forum 😂😂 Best of luck to you in whatever you decide to do
@moho I second what luqui03 said!! So glad you got your USNA appointment, but it would be great to see you at the USAFA with my boy.

I started a list to track everyone that received a waitlist offer. Good Luck to all of us to get an offer.

Has anyone else not heard anything, yet? My DS's portal still shows the 100% complete green circle. No envelope. Someone had mentioned hearing that some decisions might not be out until April 24, so I'm hoping that means he hears something today!

With there now being a direct admit waitlist as well as a prep waitlist for USAFA, is the idea that some offers to prep and/or academy will not come later on? I know that was always a slim chance, but curious if anyone knows if that's now off the table considering USAFA now has a waitlist.

I suspect prep offers are still forthcoming. However, with the waitlist, it is really uncertain if there are any direct appointments left that won't originate from the waitlist. If your DD or DS hasn't heard anything back yet, I would imagine they have something in store for them, as the TWE deadline has already passed. Can't be sure as no one but admissions truly knows what's going on, I am just speculating using logical deduction. Would it really make sense for them to send a TWE after the posted deadline to hear back? I personally don't think so. In years past, from what I can gather, not hearing back after the deadline in most cases meant a prep or direct offer. This year it could just mean a waitlist as well, as that is a new option.

Hey everyone! I accepted my appointment to the Naval Academy recently and am so grateful and excited to be apart of that community. I recieved a TWE from USAFA on the 18th of April, but I did my best. I live knowing that and I know I gave it my best shot.

I'm so grateful for the support everyone here has given me on my journey and want to stress how awesome my AFROTC community has been, and I wouldn't want my path to have gone any other way. Life is what you make of it.

Good luck to all of you in the Class of 27 and those who find another path- do not think of it any lesser because it is not!

Go Navy ;) 🐐

Things happen for a reason. Congrats again! (But GO ARMY!) 😅

Man oh man, admissions missed this one for sure. Good luck Moho!

Yeah, still nothing for me either.

Congratulations! I’m a quiet lurker of the forums and have been rooting for you these past couple of years. Parent of a USAFA grad and AROTC. So happy for you and wish you all the best.

Nothing. Still 100% completed, green circle. It's like he's on a waitlist, but not officially. He's just waiting.

It sucks. I just want to know 😅. I already emailed admissions and they told me to just hang on but at what point do I ask again? May 1st maybe?

Also side note, this was my first time applying to USNA. Never did the last two years
I didn't all three times, but I regret not doing it the first time when I could've. For such a competitive process, I now know it's unwise to put all your money on one horse unless the service you go to really matters that much to you. Glad you diversified, and even if it wasn't the dream school you're still going to an SA! Outstanding achievement, regardless of which one selects you. Sadly it does mean that you're gonna get beaten in football a whole hell of a lot by the best of the best at USAFA. :shake:

I think we may be waiting until May 1, or a few days after. Maybe they need to get more people declining before they can sort the assigned nomination piece of the puzzle? I'm being optimistic that they want you and my DS, they just haven't figured out the puzzle yet, and they need to move some pieces around until there is an available opening. I called admissions and they said that the deadline of April 21 was just to send out the TWEs.

@spinza27 - What number did you use to call them and reach a person?
