Now for the bad stuff:

SAT: 1120

Honestly, USAFA is where I want to go. I just need advice. I may be receiving a principal nomination from Congress. My area is not very competitive. I’ve been contacted by other service academies urging me to complete my portals because I’m competitive in my area.

It is estimated that about 500 students will attend college or a university after high school out of 718

I'd like to think an 1120 SAT would not merit a principal nomination, but I've seen lower scores that did. You have some good accomplishments, but so will virtually all applicants, and most will score 200 pts. or more higher than you on the SAT.

Your post is So long, It was tough to get through. No one can predict your chances, just do your best.

Will do I’m retaking my SAT in December again.

Have you tried the ACT? If not give it a shot.

My son's ALO wanted him to get each section to at least a 30. I think he took it 3 times and ended up with 31,32,32,34 on the sections. If you werent aware they accept the best score from each section. That really panned out for him.

Same for my DS - He did distinctly better with the ACT than the SAT. Our DD did equally well with both. However, I would encourage you to try the ACT if you haven't already.

I wanted to just touch on this part of the OP's original message.

There are only 24 hours in a day.....you mentioned you don't leave school until 7 pm each day, and you have a list of extra curricular activities a mile long plus you work 30-40 hours a week. Also, you play varsity sports and you volunteer. I am not trying to throw water on your flame, but it would be very difficult for me to look at this resume and not throw a big red flag at it if I was reviewing your file. The amount of time you have tied up in one week in addition to finding time to do homework for advanced classes and duel enrollment just doesn't seem feasible.

Candidates, please understand that the Academies are looking for excellence, however, they aren't looking for robots. I would take great caution submitting this for review. They want to see quality more than quantity. Just my 2 cents.

My job is an online job that allows flexibility. I am able to do my job from my mobile device. Most of my volunteer events are done on the weekends they are projects I do during lunch. I do not each lunch at my school. I complete all my work. I don’t sleep a lot. I usually sleep at 2:30 AM due to homework. I am also given a Period known as 3IE to complete homework. It is a struggle but I don’t do it because I want a gigantic resume. I do it because I don’t know anything else. I’ve always tried to be active. I’ve always seeked to be a leader. In all those organizations, I’ve held a leadership position in or revived an old tradition. Yeah, i do see a red flag. It a lot to manage. It is very stressful. Ive been told by people I need to slow down and I hear the same thing over and over again. Quality over quantity. However, working under pressure, doing a lot, staying busy is what I’ve always been doing. I think if I make it to USAFA, the stress I’ve put on my self will help me be better prepared.

Thanks for the clarification AF802990. You are managing your time quite well. Keep powering forward. One suggestion would be to cut it back a bit and use the time to focus on your standarized test score. You have hit all the major points that the AFA is looking for activities wise. However, I believe you would be more competitive in the long run if you could raise your score. Good Luck!

I know. I’m gonna really focus and prep a lot for this December SAT. I just took the SAT but I don’t know how I feel. I possibly boosted my English score more.
