Son received call Monday night. Proud Mom and Dad here. He did not think he had much of a chance after not getting slot for AIM....
RedDragon...getting into AIM is like like winning the lottery, literally. When did your son apply?

He probably finished his app in late Sept/early October. His weakness, we thought was his Act29, but the rest of his app was really strong....3 sports, 2 captains, band leadership. We are true believers in the idea that the academies are looking for the well-rounded individual. He scored well on the physical test as well.

Does he plan on playing a sport or two at the Academy?

Congrats to those getting notification of their appointments! Great news!

Parents of Appointees, there is a Facebook group for parents of appointees only. You can request to be added at https://www.facebook.com/groups/USCGA2020Parents/

This is a great way to network with other parents. Incidentally, the Parent's Associations at other service academies have similar parent's groups set up. Before long, the appointees will get notification of a similar closed Facebook group for them as well. It helps them to get to know their classmates ahead of R-Day.

Just joined the 2020 parents facebook group. First to join. Thanks for the heads up grevar. DS had received an appointment from the USNA in Sep, but his heart aka his choice A1 was the Coast Guard. AIM really made the difference. Very excited.

Not recruited for a sport so I'm sure intramurals are in his future.
