USCGA 2020 appointments

I was looking at the Facebook page with my daughter last night and the kids are all very different. Only thing that seems to rein true is they all have multiple interests. My daughter is an early college student and will graduate from high school 2 classes short of associates degree. She attends college all day and then goes to the high school for after school activities and leadership as well as her sports. Lots of kids do that now, I know. Still it is not the regular way of doing things. Like it was said before, I think given all of the options kids have now, it would be hard to compare their stats.

Haven't heard any word yet...hopefully by the end of this week?!? Thank goodness she applied to CG...WP has to wait till April!!!

On October 15th, my son got his email that his application would be forwarded to the review board within the next 2 weeks. He has yet to hear about his appointment or rejection. is this a bad sign? When do the rejections get sent out? I think that I've bitten all my nails off waiting.....

Im not positive about this, it's mostly just a guess, but I've scrolled throgh these forums for a while now and it looks like the rejection goes out dec 24th. It looks as though that many appointments go out before that, and then there are a few on that day. I believe rejection and waitlist go out on the 24th, but again, this is just a guess.

^ I would not worry. The stats for EA were posted for LY the 2019 thread showed a small slice with some being notified after the 15th.

If we haven't heard back yet, bad sign?

So it's Ho Ho Ho or No No NO!

I cannot believe they would give rejections on Christmas Eve.

My son received a phone call the week before Thanksgiving from a coach confirming his admission. He received his official letter on the 30 th. After receiving a notification his file was being reviewed, it took a couple of weeks before finding out.

Do you think a few people are a bit anxious with this wait? I know that I check this page way too frequently, but seeing that this thread has been viewed 8,270 makes me feel better. I guess misery really does like company! I will only claim about 1,000 of those views. :) So happy that we don't have too much longer.

DS just received phone call from the USCGA offering him an appointment class of 2020. No email yet. He is at school and does not know yet. Any other calls today?
Does anyone know if they have finished with the early action decisions? I know 12/24 is deadline for decisions but is that only for the ones who did not receive appointments?

Any idea when the next appointments are going out?
The final Early Action (EA) reviews are being completed this week and the majority of the remaining decision letters, which is actually over half of EA, will be published on Friday. A few final letters will be published on Monday/Tuesday, but as outlined in the Applicant Handbook all EA applicants will be notified by 12/24.

Well, it's Friday afternoon....this waiting period is getting to me!
