We have to secure our spot prior to Friday, and we haven't heard anything from CGA. We're assuming the final will just all come on Friday or Saturday. I see physics, calc, chem. My DD is at USMMA. She reminded her brother to keep an open mind and be flexible but otherwise move forward with other plans. Put down the housing deposit at your 2nd choice, move forward with roommates, plan your classes, and get to know your coaches and teammates. This was in response to his feeing sick to his stomach, like he was cheating on his new team, still hoping to attend USCGA (he did let them know USCGA was his top choice when they were vetting him).
Yet be mentally prepared to change gears, just leave it for now. Two of her friends at USMMA received their appointments very late in the game. One 3 weeks prior, and one 4 days prior to starting Indoc (USMMA equivalent to Swab Summer). Does anyone have better insight about last minute direct appointments or CGAS appointments?
 
any news for anyone today? I wonder if it will fairly quite until Sat/Sun of next weekend, just like this past weekend...

I already had him down on my "Appointed off Waitlist" list!

Still the checklist. Am I the only one who actually feels relief at seeing the checklist? When we see the "decision," it WILL change life one way or the other...

I know what you mean.....it WILL change, no matter what.
At least for DS, he will know which direction he's going before school lets out for Spring Break.

Nothing today for him I am guessing--- or I am sure he would of called me. *sigh*
 
OK...so DD has been waitlisted from Dec. EA...
Her official Waitlist letter has changed last week on her portal. It states that she needs to email CGA back by May 1 if she's still interested. The letter previously stated February 1st, which she did back in Dec.
So does she have email them again expressing her continued interest?
I guess this will be the final step...??
True...the waiting is the hardest part!
 
I think that is re-waitlisted, although I am not the authority on that. I would call to confirm.
I know there are going to be other spots that open up as some appointees choose other options, I am fairly certain that those are the spots that the waitlisted will be getting.
My DS has a classmate accepted to both USNA and USCGA and he accepted his appointment to USNA (what was he thinking!!), anyway, I think we just earmarked that spot for a forum member! (I so wish we could do that).

Sue, I'm in the same boat as your DD. I just went ahead and emailed the guy saying that I would accept my spot again. Not sure if this is what we are supposed to do, but I wanted to play it safe. Good luck to you and your daughter, and hopefully we see each other this summer!

Hi Thumper,
Thanks for the post! I read it and I loved your line "I wanted to play it safe." So I went to DD and said why not...it's worth the time of sending a simple email...so she did! Now I can sleep tonite! Good luck to you and hopefully we WILL meet each other this summer! Keep us posted!
