When did you submit you application?
Didn't decline yet. USNA is his dream school. I think he will decline USCGA very soon.bluesky, it looks like you accepted your USNA appointment, did you decline USCGA?
Eagerly (and anxiously) checking Bear's Den for my DS. Nothing yet, still awaiting completion of the CCEBR. I believe the Board meets on Thursday, so hoping they get to his today. His application was submitted back on 28 SEP 16.
Thanks for that info. We'll keep our fingers crossed.Btw our CCEBR box was not checked until after we knew DS had gotten his appointment. They don't always seem to happen in the correct order.
Is anyone not a recruited athlete so far?
I haven't heard anything yet. It should be closer to May 1 when the waitlisted people hear back.Has anyone received an appointment from the wait list?
...hopefully next week will bring more good news!
I also have a DD who is a 4/C who loves it. My other daughter fell in love with the school during R-Day activities and the Admiral's speech. It looks like she will be following her sisters footsteps this summer. We couldn't be prouder and happier for both of them.We have several pairs of siblings at CGA right now. It is a family. Siblings tend to follow because it is so tight knit and the opportunities are endless. My DS is a 4/C and loves it.
Sorry to hear that. Best of luck with what's next.Unfortunately my son didn't pass his secondary color vision test (Farnsworth Lantern) so he will not be attending the Coast Guard Academy. Good luck to everyone else in the running.
Sorry manUnfortunately my son didn't pass his secondary color vision test (Farnsworth Lantern) so he will not be attending the Coast Guard Academy. Good luck to everyone else in the running.
I'm so sorry to hear that; he and all of you must be heartbroken.Unfortunately my son didn't pass his secondary color vision test (Farnsworth Lantern) so he will not be attending the Coast Guard Academy. Good luck to everyone else in the running.
It is not you DS fault. I wish the very best for him. In 1976 the same thing happened to me. There was no Farnworth test at that time. Fast forward to 2015 I used it to become a USCG 100 Ton Master. Do not let this define you. Many opportunities will be available.Unfortunately my son didn't pass his secondary color vision test (Farnsworth Lantern) so he will not be attending the Coast Guard Academy. Good luck to everyone else in the running.
