USCGA Change of Command Ceremony
At 1100, 03 June 2011, RDML Sandra L. Stosz will relieve RADM J. Scott Burhoe as Superintendent, United States Coast Guard Academy.
ADM Robert J. Papp, Jr., Commandant of the Coast Guard, will preside over the ceremony.
The Change of Command ceremony is a time-honored tradition that formally restates the continuity of command – the transfer of total responsibility and authority from one individual to another. The ceremony also affords personnel of the command, guests, and the community at large to recognize the achievements and service of the Commanding Officer, while at the same time welcome aboard the Prospective Commanding Officer.
The Academy’s Change of Command Ceremony is scheduled to occur at Washington Parade Field, with the Leamy Hall Auditorium utilized in the event of inclement weather.
