USCGA Class of 2014 Appointments

sandhills...... You were right, that was my son! I wish I could have seen his face when they handed it to him. He had a great time during the Academy Experience. Although he has been on numerous tours of the Academy, he thoroughly enjoyed his time shadowing his host cadet, going to lacrosse practice, eating with the cadets, going to a class, the lecture Thursday night, and of course the lacrosse game on Friday night! Go Bears!!!!

Got my appointment Saturday!!!

This was my second year applying so I am very relieved.

Appointments

Hello all,

Just curious as to whether or not more people received appointments this week.

Good luck to all.

JW, congrats and best wishes!

CGA, nothin' here! Little too quiet! April 15th is a long ways away!!!!

I am an enlisted member, go to CGA, best decision you can make. It will not be easy, trust me having gone through boot camp once, however you can take it. FN Lovett USCGC Matinicus in San Juan,PR, by the way I am accepting my appointment, it is an honor.

Great opportunity, I am an enlisted member aboard the coast guard cutter Matinicus in San Juan, PR. I was given the opportunity, when I received the letter to attend the cadet for a day event or guardian challenge on the 7th and 8th of October. I have been enlisted for 3 years in the CG, glad I took the opportunity, I will have a full appointment after my eyes are cleared.

Does anyone know how many more appointments will be mailed out? I am checking the mail daily!

^^^^
Could see them being sent out well into late April, early May

To M. LOVETT:

I was enlisted in the Navy when I received an appointment to Kings Point back in '78. I was an alternate to KP, and was acceped to Ole Miss and Penn State, but I was intent on the military. I enlisted and later tried again . The next time was a charm. You will have a keen sense of appreciation for the honor bestowed upon you. Your leadership and experience as an enlisted man will pay big dividends as you go through the struggles of balancing regimental life and academics. Congratulations young man. Without even knowing you, you have a special place in my heart.

PS My roommate my first class year was a former Coast Guard enlisted man!
