USCGA EA1 Application

All Early Action Group One applicants will be notified of their admissions decision by 12/24.

All Early Action Group One (EA1) decisions have been released and are available for applicants to view on their application homepage. The final batch of EA1 appointment packages will be mailed tomorrow, so those may or may not physically arrive by 12/24.

I saw this on Facebook.

Admissions has completed Class of 2018 Early Action 1 reviews. 449 students were reviewed and ~150 appointments (including conditional appointments) were awarded. Some students received an appointment to CGA Scholars/Prep School. You may find a list of appointees on the Partner Portal (Bear's Den) page in the Documents area.

Admissions is now reviewing Early Action 2 files. The regular admission deadline remains 1 Feb 2014

Just FYI my DS's original acceptance letter in the portal said they would tender less than 300 appointments for an incoming class of 235. The current version now says they will they will tender less than 325 for an incoming class of 250. I think that says a lot about the caliber of this year's applicants! :)

I'm sure that this year's applicant pool is outstanding. The seeming increase in appointments and class size, however, probably has more to do with the needs of the Coast Guard and anticipated changes in the size of the officer pipeline rather than the quality of the applicant pool.
