Hello I am seeking acceptance to both of these academy’s. I’ve been told that you will be not accepted to both. Can some one verify is this is true. In other words if I am accepted to USCGA. Will the USAFA be notified and not offer me a appointment ?

The service academies do not talk to each other, so they do not know if you've been offered an appointment to any of the others. You will see on this forum every year at least one applicant that was offered an appointment to all 5 service academies.
If you apply to multiple academies that require a nomination (USCGA does not), you may have to prioritize your choices for the nominating official. I know in VA, my cadet had to list which service academies he wanted nominations for in priority order.

Told by whom?

I have (okay, they're old but still look new) appointment offers to USAFA, USNA, USMA, and USMMA...

The Puddle Pirates made me an alternate (they're TOUGH!!)

Your MOC may only nominate you to one, but that's not a factor with USCGA.

My youngest son applied to four academies and received appointments to all four. The schools do not communicate regarding individual’s appointments. Respectfully, they leave the tough decision up to the candidate.

You can be Appointed to more than one. The SA's do not communicate about candidates. Continue to seek Appointments to any and all the SA's you like. MOCs typically like candidates to apply to more than one. Of course USCGA does not use the Nomination process.

The only caveat I know of is that if you applied to USCGA EA, and get accepted, you have to either accept or decline, and if you accept USCGA EA, then you would need to revoke your USAFA Application. Otherwise, you have until the cut off date for the particular academy to accept or reject an appointment.

Sir/Ma'am,
Your information may be a bit outdated with regards to USCGA EA. Early Action is offered and is non-binding, but you have until 1 May (just like the other SAs) to accept.

Cut and Pasted from website:

Early Action

The Academy’s Early Action review group is non-binding. All applicants appointed in this group will still have until May 1st to accept or decline.
High school seniors and active duty military members are eligible for Early Action. Those attending college or a post-grad year are not unless they are first-time applicants.

Sorry, my bad! Meant ED (Early Decision) not EA (Early Action)
