Has anyone heard any recent updates from admissions regarding the waitlist? I did see a couple applicants were pulled off on May 30th, Congrats!

I have not heard anything yet. It still has the same notification from when it first opened.

An email went out to those on the waitlist on Wednesday asking if they still want to be on the list. My understanding is that there was a board with several openings and those offered a slot would have until tomorrow, Monday to make a decision. We are still hoping there may be another board.

Don’t lose hope. My DD was in that situation last year. She never made it off the list. She went to plan B school and reapplied this year and was selected. We begin her academy journey in a few short weeks. Never give up!

Does anyone know how many have accepted appointments so far? Just wondering they are aiming the class size for.

She had received an email asking if she still wished to be on the waitlist, possibly up to June 15. She agreed. We never heard anything after that.

The acceptance letter my son received said they're targeting a class size of 275

Wow, that is smaller than I thought, but I guess it makes sense since the academy is just over 1000 cadets total.
Anyone, I was wondering about what my odds are for making it into USCGA. I'm a rising senior, have 3.6 GPA (expect it to go up), 1444 SAT, AFROTC Cadet for the past 2 years (Going to discontinue next year) (After school participation-Model Rocketry, Raider Team, Color Guard and Drill Team), and scored exactly 201 on my PFE. What are my odds of making it on to the waitlist and swab summer? Thank you

No one can really say what your odds are. Have you compared yourself to the class profile? What does your leadership look like? One thing is certain, your odds are zero if you do not apply.
Your goal should be to receive an appointment, not to the waitlist. You make it to swab summer after receiving an appointment and accepting the offer of appointment.

@afrotcdudette
Please help me out here, as many are trying to help you. In this other post today, you or your doppelgänger stated “I’m a NROTC sophmore (sic) non-scholarship cadet (MJ note: NROTC has midshipmen not cadets) who did not get placed in advanced standing because of low PRT scores.” In that thread, you were inquiring about AF OTS, and listed other accomplishments and activities.

Now apparently you are an AFROTC rising senior who is “discontinuing” AFROTC and asking about your chances to get onto the USCGA waitlist and swab summer.

Either you are sincere and having a problem phrasing your questions consistently, or I wonder if you’re a troll having a good roll in SAF.

@kinnem , I'm a NROTC sophmore non-scholarship cadet who did not get placed in advanced standing because of my low Prt scores. I got 60's across the board, and they didn't let me continue NROTC (my GPA was 3.65, and I was in the Pershing Rifles (31 ACT) I have seen in previous posts that failing NROTC will affect your chances at Naval OCS.
So, since my second choice was AF OTS (this is where I want to go after my degree), will failing Navy rotc affect my application for Air Force ots? Thank you.

I really want to commision in any branch of the military (excluding army/marines)

Yep. There it is. Just the ACT score and a different GPA in this example.

TROLL.
@afrotcdudette posted on 5/29: My detachment (#340) at Worcester Poly Tech is a medium sized-det, and they didn't tell us about our ranking or anything. I passed the afpft, and they were good with that (im not on a scholarship, i failed during freshman fall sem but passed this spring sem). I'm going to be a 200 next year.

@afrotcdudette posted on 5/26: I'm in high school, so I'm wondering what EC and OML are, and does physical capability affect EC or OML (whatever they are)?

There are people on this forum that volunteer their time to help students and their families navigate the very difficult path to serving as an Officer in the US Armed Forces through SA admissions, ROTC or OCS. Please do not waste their time by making up different backstories for each forum you post in. If you really want help from this forum, please cut out the BS and stick to one (truthful) story.

I only looked at the first two posts in their string and in the first one she (assuming a she because DUDETTE but I guess could be he) is a "rising senior" and in the second a high school sophomore. . .

Why on earth would someone troll like that? What's the point? Sigh.

Definitely a troll. Posts range from being a high school sophomore to having a bachelors and pursuing a masters with inquiries about MARGRAD. Unsure why someone would waste time like that. I would recommend banning that individual, but I'm not a moderator...
