USMA 2021 - Computer Accessories Package Needed?

Cadets have the option of purchasing a $400 computer accessories package. This includes a mouse, keyboard, monitor, docking station, a printer and a few other items. Is this worth it? Do they need a monitor/printer etc or will it just take up space. I saw an old thread on this but it was a couple of years old so I thought I would ask again.

We learned this year that it is very nice for the student to have everything available at her first freshman year of school. We talked about it and instead of sending her stuff at the end of beast we just bought it again. You might be able to shop around and save a few dollars but having everything in one place during reorganization week seems much easier to me. They will go to computer issue and pick it up. The other advantage I see is that the IT folks will provide better support as they will be familiar with the equipment and issues that may come up.

Totally agree! This is exactly what we did for our DS and once the decision was made, we were at peace with it.

Yep, order it! We have spoken to various Plebes and they said the printer is a must, because if not, then they have to be at other cadets mercy to use theirs.

My very frugal son ordered the package. One less stressor! I've left his portal alone but might log on after his graduation and life settles down. We need to look at the packing list and see what's essential.

Any word yet on Admissible Package 3 and 4? All I hear on the fb page is soon...ugh. My DD just wants to get it done, lol. That's all I hear...

Son hasn't said anything about #3 and #4.

I would expect the next admissible to be more information than forms as #1 was full of data forms. He did receive a fitness letter about how many pull ups they expect him to do / same as his CFA. He's within 2 of his pull ups last year. Had shoulder surgery on 8/3 and it truly is a year process for full recovery. His mile time and push ups/sit ups will far surpass his CFA and he surpasses the minimum of 3 as stated in the letter. Hoping he can get the 2 he needs. It's just been a long road to full strength. He's been running like a fiend and we live in the hills of southern Ohio so USMA hills will be home. [emoji41]

Yes, my guy just told me about the fitness letter. He tried to get the video of cadence pull ups to open--and it wouldn't so he ran a Google and there is an USMA video set in Arvin with detailed instructions. I don't know about him, but I was impressed that the letter included the number of his pull ups from his CFA. Motivation!
Best wishes to your boy @Love4monsters w/ the pull ups and the shoulder surgry.

Woot woot! Mission accomplished. Son had been equaling his CFA pull ups. Now he wants to exceed it. Never ending goals but Yay!

It's getting close. Travel plans made and he's checked off his packing list needs.

Praying for happiness and health for USMA Class of 2021.

Congrats to your boy @Love4monsters
Boots and low quarters arrived last night...white crew socks and black dress socks on order...two gallon Ziploc bags are ready in the cupboard.
Getting ready...
