Hey everyone,

I hope you're all staying safe and healthy during this turbulent time.

I know it's been awhile since I've posted on here but wanted to make myself available to answer any questions you might have. My name is First Lieutenant Tuan Le and I am an Admissions Officer at the United States Military Academy at West Point. I personally manage the Southeast region but I am open to helping all candidates (or redirecting you to the right resource/person).

Short intro on me -- I graduated from West Point in 2016 and majored in EV Science/Engineering/Pre-Med. Prior to attending West Point, I attended the University of Minnesota and served as a combat medic (68W) in the Minnesota National Guard. While at West Point, I was accepted into medical school (but deferred my acceptance to serve on Active Duty) and commissioned as a Medical Service Corps (MS) officer. I've been in positions as a medical platoon leader, battalion medical operations officer, and an environmental science engineering officer (ESEO). I was stationed at Fort Riley (Kansas), Fort Sam Houston (Texas), and more recently at West Point (New York). I also did a rotation out to Europe in Poland and Germany.

If you would like to learn more about the admissions process, cadet life, medical/grad school, active duty life or connect with other candidates, cadets, old grads -- feel free to PM me for more information.

I look forward to connecting with you all soon! Good luck on your academic pursuit and thank you for your commitment to serving our country.

DS was recently selected to attend girls state. If it get cancelled this summer will she still receive "points/credit" towards her WCS for being selected assuming she sends in the selection email/letter she received. Thank you for taking time to answer our questions. My son, USMA 23 followed you on all of your social media accounts and your advice was extremely helpful

Under what circumstances would an applicant hear back very late in the process, following may 1st?

As some of you have mentioned in previous discussions, Boys and Girls State have been cancelled in some states. To date – Maine, California, Indiana and New York have all cancelled their Girls and Boys states programs. Some of you may be concerned that you will not get the appropriate leadership scores if you were selected and could not attend. If you were selected but it is now cancelled, a letter from the Legion President will suffice for us. Please have it signed, dated, scanned, and emailed to your regional Admissions officer or technician.

Have appointments been made from the NWL yet? If so is there any way to know if DS is in the top 150 which are guaranteed an offer? DS is 3Q with nomination and was told he is on the NWL. How many offers will come from the list? Thank you.

Please continue to standby. Thank you for being patient with us as we continue to work diligently through this time.

Our DD has been admitted and she has diligently working on completing the forms needed. However, with several doctors offices closed down, is the timeline in getting these forms back been extended? Specifically speaking of the dental, vision and immunization forms needed.

No. The NWL is for those with nominations who did not win their slate.

In my 3Q letter, It says this "We have received all your application information and the Admissions Committee has qualified your file. West Point has eliminated rolling admissions for this cycle. As such, all qualified applicants are placed on a National Waiting List until appointments are made. Most appointments will be tendered between 26 February and 1 May 2020. "

Does that mean I did not win my slate and that I am on the the NWL?
