USMA-Congressional Nomination Interview

Greetings to the forum community.
I was just notified that I have a meeting scheduled concerning my congressional nomination for USMA.

I've read many articles and threads on this forum on how to prepare for the interview, but I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences, or any tips on how to prepare.

Any and every suggestion is appreciated.

Hi! All of my congressional and senatorial nomination interviews were really unexpectedly short, so be prepared to cram a lot of information into each your answers. Obviously dress well and find a quiet place in your house if the interview will be over zoom. Also be ready to answer questions on leadership experience and skills. I'm not sure how it works in your state, but where I am, I met with a board of people, instead of just one. I don't know if that is how it's done everywhere. Good luck!

Like the poster above. My interview was 10 mintues long and at most was allowed 15 mintues. I had 5 people in total asking me questions, with at least tone question each. Total of 8 questions and from what I know from two other candidates only one question stayed the same across-the-board. "What is one word to describe you?"

Other questions were
"Where do you see yourself in the air force in ten years?" they knew from my interview that I was planning on being in the military

" When was one time you had a dispute with your leadership?" resume stated Jrotc

"What is the most important trait in leadership?"

" What do you believe make followship important?"

"What is one thing you want the board to know about you?"

Here's my tips:
Know your resume. They will also about any point that either seems too good to be true orrr they really like and want to know more on, you won't know which.

Be calm, you've got nothing to hide. Have you made mistakes? Yes we all have. Will you make a mistake durning the interview probably so why panick about it? They know you're human and they know you may not have alot of experience interviewing. They're human so they tend to have hearts

Know the honor code and core values. This is part of the standards you want to embody by going to USAFA. You can't tell them you want to meet the high standards set by our military if you don't know them.

Lastly dress like you want it. There's plenty of advice on these forms on how to dress. Give them every reason to say yes ( mine said "I want her on the board" which I don't think I was supposed to hear but they hadn't kickef me out yet so I didn't know if I was to leave or not)
