dear all,
I am currently a junior in high school. Attending west point has always been a dream of mine. My GPA is 4.0 on a 4.0 scale. My school does not rank. I received 2 varsity letters (baseball and soccer). I am an eagle scout. I am an US citizen living overseas. Both my parents aren't Americans. We don't have property in the US or pay taxes to the US government. People have told me this could really hurt my chances on going to west point. Would it?

thanks for the help!

With your parents NOT being citizens, having no ties to the US, and you not residing here, without additional info it will be hard for the people here with more knowledge that I to help you. Good Luck, but please don't put all your eggs in one basket. Maybe move to the US to finish high school if you have relatives or family friends living here, or come back after you graduate HS and attend one year of college here then ask for a NOM.

The VP nom chances are extremely slight. If you have something amazing you're bringing to the table, there is a chance of a Supe nom (i.e. blue chip athletic recruit, a cure for cancer, Nobel prize, etc). I would contact admissions and ask how they suggest you proceed.

This is an unusual and tricky situation so please don't rely exclusively on this site or your own research. Go straight to the source: Pick up the phone and speak directly to USMA admissions. The most important eligibility factor is that you're a US citizen. From here, let USMA be your guide.
