I'm confused about my rejection letter. They stated that my "application was certainly impressive and [they] confirmed me as a candidate". Is this an automated process of sending letters? Can letters be sent to applicants stating they have been denied as a candidate?

P.S.
I have a question about the questionnaire because I felt that I didn't do something correctly, what exactly is the "remarks" portion of the questionnaire for and how to we add to it (if possible)?

I believe what they are saying is they will keep your file, should you choose to apply to West Point in the future.

Remarks.. is that the "other activities"? If so, you just add things that aren't specified when updating your activities.. you can add more stuff by e-mailing admissions.
