Kind of a stretch to put in the Academy part of the forum, but related to USMC and Navy ....... ;)

(Mods, please feel free to move to the off Topic if so inclined).

Today, the USMC band (the President's band) was at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD at the request of the PACE mission team to play for them as well as see if they could play louder in the acoustical testing chamber in our I&T complex (integration and testing) than the observatory experienced during testing (138db).

It was really cool to see, and the band even composed a theme song for them which they debuted. I have a video of that, but it is way to big to host here. So, I just have a cool pic.

The PACE mission will be looking at ocean and atmospheric science and actually got a letter from the Dept. of the Navy when it kept getting dropped from the President's budget request to help bolster the need for the mission. It is one of the missions within the NASA Earth Science's program that I manage.

Here is the mission's website: https://pace.gsfc.nasa.gov/

And the awesome band that performed:

I had to leave after a few songs to get to another meeting, but it was an incredible experience!
