USMC Silent Drill Team

Not sure if it still is, but this used to be a plebe summer "field" trip, one of their first opportunities to wear their trop whites.
 
Must agree! Grew up in Bethesda, MD. Whenever family or guests were around in the summer, we would end up at Eighth and Eye on a Friday night. The SDT and the bands are phenominal! I think they are also doing a show at the Iwo Memorial at Arlington. When in DC it is a must see.

USMC Silent Drill actually visits the Academy now during Plebe Summer and performs in Alumni for all the Plebes.

However, during the Summer Seminar sessions, we do take the high school candidates out to DC to watch USMC Silent Drill perform at the Imo Jima Memorial during the Sunset Parade.

In my day, they did it on Worden Field. Simply amazing. :smile:
 
I am still amazed; they never drop their weapon. Much different than the baton twirlers I grew up with!

They are so awesome! I hope I get to see them up close and personal one day.
