Stella,
I do know they had some down time, but not a whole lot. They worked one day with Habitat for Humanity in Fredericksburg, one day they toured DC and then went to 8th & I to see the President's Own and the Silent Drill Team perform. They visited George Mason (I believe, don't quote me on that exact school) and spoke with the local NROTC recruiters to explain the scholarship process. They had a TBS day where all Marine 2nd Lts. end up for 6 months. They did do PT quite a bit and some leadership and team building exercises outdoors. My son did NASS as well last year along with about 4 other camps and this one ranked up with the best of them. His best friend also got in, so that may have helped, . They truly didn't have anything bad to say. Last year was it's inception so I can imagine that this year will even be better since they probably worked any kinks out I hope this information helps. I think it is very worthwhile and it is FREE, except for transportation! Good luck to your kids!!!!
