I was wondering when we'd see an update on this but since today's USMMA Alumni Association electronic newsletter "The Scuttlebutt" posted it, there's no sense waiting any longer.

For the first time since its inception, Kings Point captured the Superintendent's Trophy (7-5) in head to head varsity competition vs. the Coast Guard Academy. USMMA's seven victories came from Soccer (2-0), Football (33-27, 2OT), Offshore Sailing (Shields Trophy), Men's Basketball (73-58), Women's Basketball (67-63), Wrestling (37-0), and Dinghy Sailing. Coast Guard's wins were Women's Volleyball (3-0), Men's Swimming (175-125), Women's Swimming (154-89), Baseball (4-5, 3-2, 13-6) and Tennis (7-2). The softball competition was canceled due to a conflict with a Coast Guard make up of a conference game.

Bravo - brav0 midshipman!!!!

FANTASTIC RECORD THIS YEAR!

The USMMA and Coast Guard Football game was THE BEST!

CONGRATULATIONS to all of the Athlete's and especially that Colorado 'bunch'.

Congrats to the Seagulls! Youll FINALLY get to see what the trophy looks like after 6 years!

PS - Why did it take so long to find out who won the "Dingy Sailing-Boston" event? Once KP got to 7 wins it was over - the CGA wins in baseball and tennis were superfluous if it was already decided. Does anyone have a web site to see the Dingy Sailing-Boston results or even know WHEN the race(s) took place?

Make sure and come to New London on September 11th for the beginning of next year's competition. Football, soccer, and vollyball all on the same day.

There is a facebook page urging ESPN College GameDay to come to the Secretaries Cup football game, as it is a Service Academy match-up, and it takes place on 9/11.

Get ESPN College GameDay to USCGA 9/11/10

Luigi: Thanks for posting a link to the facebook page re: getting College Game Day to New London on 9/11. I don't know why it would take so long to get the results of for the Boston Dinghy Sailing event thought I think that would be a NEISA (USCGA Conference event) vice a MAISA event so you might ask the coaching staff at USCGA the question. Perhaps deepdraft could tell us but usually the sailing regata events are basically available and posted to ICYRA at the end of each regatta....

Enjoy it now KP. It'll becoming back to CGA next year

Strong words from a guy who still has to get through swab summer... Get ready to watch your KP brethren do a lot of pushups when we open the 2010 competition in New London this September Sam...

Well done Mariners !
Graciously acknowledged, Luigi...
But.. let's not look to the future TOO quickly ;)
We'd miss enjoying the present.

this years sailing event was not the Boston Dinghy Cup. Due to the widely changing ICSA schedules both teams are not always at that event, so the coaches choose an event each spring where both teams will compete. as for the info taking a while to disseminate, our Athletic Department Staff chose to wait for all sports to be complete, even though the results would not change. I'm not involved in that decision- just happy that the waterfront won both of our points this year!
