USMMA Class of 2027 Waiting Room & Hangout

I’m quite sure this has been asked and answered, my apologies. But does Application Status “Under Review” mean that the application has not been looked at yet? If an applicant is determined to be Not Qualified, will the status stay “under review”. I’ve been hoping to see a status change for the past month, but no such luck

My status said "Under review" until the day an appointment showed up in my portal.

Basic Portal Steps to Admission:
  • App on File
  • Ready for Review
  • Under Review-means application is being "looked at"
    Can change to:
  • Qualified Not Selected
  • Hold
  • LOA
  • Principal Fully Qualified
There are other labels that I have not posted here:
Dropped Incomplete -means App was not finished

Portal Status - LOA - CFA, NOM, No MED
Nomination: Yes
CFA: PASS
Medical Status: None

From the admissions team point of view, does that mean that they have not received the medical or that she is not cleared? Will medical status on USMMA portal change if she is DQ? What about waiver status from the perspective of USMAA?

DD status is DQ "Under Waiver Review" on DoDMERB portal. They have responded to queries with "There are no updates".

USMMA has not acknowledged the DoDMERB DQ. USMMA has not indicated they are pursuing a waiver. USMMA has sent an LOA... DD currently is just under the impression that she has to trust the process but she doesn't currently know who has the ball in this admissions game. LOA condition for appointment was on her completion of medical - but that has been done since Dec and no AMI has been requested.

    I don't try to understand DoDMERB or their process. They are in control of that. Your best bet is to contact them directly. I have attached a letter from Mr. Larry Mullen (A GUY WITH "INTRICATE KNOWLEGE" OF DODMERB) that outlines the steps your DD needs to take. They want to hear from the Applicant NOT the Parents.

Even though no AMI has been requested, I would gather information on a proactive basis. Both my DS and DD had LOA's with medical DQ's. They obtained and submitted additional medical records and doctor letters. They each received a waiver and an appointment within a few days. They are class of '13 and class of '21, so this anecdotal information may not hold true for you. It also may depend on your DD's specific DQ. It is a fine line they have to walk between being persistent and becoming a pest. Good luck.

My DD received notice from DoDMERB of USMMA DQ for several issues, which also states that it may not be over yet - that the USMMA may initiate the waiver process. She then received notice from USMMA that she was waitlisted, but nothing about a waiver being requested (she has a nomination but no LOA). About a week later, DD received a similar DQ letter from DoDMERB for the USNA. A day later, she received another letter from DoDMERB that the USNA had requested waivers and requested additional remedials (no nomination, LOA for NAPS). I assume if USMMA finds a spot for my DD then they'll request their remedials? Not sure but it's definitely nerve-wrecking. The unknown stinks!

Has anyone heard yet about when the open house for those who have received an appointment will be? I'm thinking about making a visit then and would like to plan out the trip. 🤔

I don't believe they had a formal open house for Class of 2026. We just visited on our own, scheduling it thru admissions office. She had never visited the campus before and it was a great experiance. Her brother is joining the KP family - Class of 2027. We at least have an idea of what the next upcoming months and year will look like. Best wishes to those awaiting news.

The website Admissions Visits seems to indicate that visits are possible ("USMMA has resumed day and overnight visits!") but need to be scheduled through the Admissions Office. The link, which was updated on February 13, 2023 has the email address.
