USMMA Class of 2027 Waiting Room & Hangout

Trending lower than last year... by this time last year 16 people had reported appointments, not that this board is an exact science, but it's been my experience that the trends have typically stood up over time. So perhaps KP is a bit behind in issuing appointments.

I was told that they have only filled 6 slots out of 260. Don’t know how accurate this is but it was from a pretty accurate source.

Since five people have already indicated on this forum that they have accepted appointments, your source does not appear to be too reliable. Traditionally, about 10-20% of acceptances are reported here. To everyone waiting who has completed their application, resist the urge to dwell on rumors and things you cannot control. Plan to hear a decision in the March or April time frame. You will be wise to enjoy your remaining time in high school and with your family and friends. Good luck to all.

Do you think the “Under Review” status on my portal might have my appointment/denial come sooner? It has read “Under Review” for almost a week now. Or do you think I should not get my hopes up and expect to have to wait until March or April?

I’m sorry I said 6 but I meant 9. According to the last admissions report there were only 9 slots filled out of 260. This coming directly from admissions is pretty accurate so don’t come at me saying that my source doesn’t seem to be too reliable.

My “under review” status was up for a few weeks before I received an LOA.

FYI, the admissions person we met with last week told us that USMMA doesn’t send denial letters.

DS was under review in Oct and has been on Hold status for months. He's hoping this week after talking to the coach.

Hello,
I discovered this forum while frantically searching for any more last minute info considering that the deadline is tomorrow. Does anyone know what application on file means in terms of application completeness? Can I also get a short walk through the acceptance process from the school. I appreciate all and any help, this is my family's first experience with any of this and I'm excited to see my results!

I assumed all admissions would come after the February deadline, is this false? are there people who are receiving acceptance much earlier than the deadline?

Have you looked at the appointment threads in each of the service academy forums? Appointments start going out in the fall and go into April and sometimes beyond.

How much do you have completed? It is probably too late for you to meet the deadline unless you have a lot completed already. Look in the "Documents" section of your portal. You must have everything marked "Submitted" or "Veryfied Complete" by tomorrow at 23:59. Many of these requirements take weeks to coordinate and complete, like the CFA, Teacher Recommendations, etc. Do you have a nomination securred?
Honestly, you should probably start setting your sights for the class of 2028 at this point. I assume you have applications in at other colleges/universities? Consider applying to the USMMA next year, well before the deadline.

Thank you, yes I have everything completed, my nomination, test scores, CFA, progress reports, and all needed docs, with the acceptance of my 7th semester transcripts and final HS transcripts obviously. I was just curious about the acceptance process due to the fact that my portal read "app on file" and didn't change after everything was submitted which was answered in the comment above. Thank you all!

Okay, my bad. Glad to hear you have all of that done. Email your admissions officer about the status then. Also, send your 7-semester transcript as soon as you can. It isn’t needed to make an admissions decision, but it should help.

When my son applied in 2020, his status stayed the same 'app on file' once all was submitted until his offer of an appointment came through.
